Elkwater - Cypress Hill Provincial ParkLocated approximately 72 km Southeast of Medicine Hat, Elkwater is a great day trip location for the whole family!
Most facilities in Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park-Alberta are concentrated along the south shore of Elkwater Lake in the Elkwater townsite. There are several campgrounds in the park, accommodation and attractions. Lakes, trails and watchable wildlife offer lots of great recreational and learning opportunities for everyone in the family. Disc golf, GPS units, and take home interpretive kits, are available for free to be picked up at the Campground Booth. Beaches are open and the washrooms next to the beach are open for flush toilet use, however the showers are not open. 12-34 Café is open for eat-in or take out. Mini-golf and boat/bike rentals are planned to be open this summer. Celebrate Canada Day with us! Redcliff Aquatic CentreOpening as of June 29th for public swim. Hours are 7:00am to 9:00pm Monday to Friday, 1:00pm to 8:30pm Saturday, 12:00pm to 7:00pm Sunday.

Lions Park and the Splash Park are truly gems to spend time with the family on a summers day. Lions Park is also the site of the old town water tower. Amenities at the park include horseshoe pits, traditional playground equipment, a newly upgraded washroom, changeroom and kitchen facilities, public use picnic tables, and a picnic shelter. Redcliff Youth CentreIs hosting a variety of activities though out the summer for youth ages 10-17. All events/programs require pre-registration. White Barn Fun FarmLocated 10 minutes west of Brooks. A Hobby farm that opened their gates to the public. Visit alpacas, Emu's, goats and more. Visit their website to schedule a visit. Visitors can also contact them via Facebook or by calling/texting 403-501-3907 to arrange an appointment. Tour lasts approximately an hour and is jam packed with small to large animals they can pet, feed, brush and hold. Admission is $13.99 per person, under 24 months is free!

The Etzikom Museum & Canadian Historic Windmill Interpretive Centre Located about 90km Southwest of Medicine Hat, the Museum has interior displays, Windmill Interpretive Centre, Stationary Engines, Service Station, Church, walking path among windmills and antique farm equipment. Hours are 10-5 Everyday (Including Weekends and Holidays. Be sure to stop by and tour the museum and have some pie and ice cream afterwards.
Red Rock CouleeBeautiful spheroid rock formations located approximately 50km south of Medicine Hat. Enjoy an afternoon hiking and viewing wildlife such as white-tailed jack rabbits, mule deer, pronghorn, and short-horned lizards. You can also enjoy geocaching (download your own app).
Echo Dale Regional ParkThe boating lake is undergoing repairs and the lakes will be filled once the repair is complete, around July 15. There are lots of other things to see & do at Echo Dale Park, too. Admission to Echo Dale Regional Park, including the swim lake, is free!
Located just 15 minutes from Medicine Hat along Holsom Road, this oasis is a great spot to spend a summer day. From the historic farm site on one end to the walking trails and day use areas on the other end, this park is a perfect family day trip.
